Hotel Calimala completely exceeded our expectations and became one of the highlights of our first trip to Florence. The location is unbeatable. We walked everywhere— the Duomo, Uffizi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio, restaurants, shopping, and artisan workshops were all just minutes away. The hotel is beautiful, with a stylish design, a fantastic rooftop bar, and a lively lobby that always had a great atmosphere. The rooftop is also a popular dining destination in Florence, and it’s easy to see why. The food and service were consistently excellent. What made this stay truly special was the staff. Angelo P. is one of the finest hospitality professionals we’ve ever met. His warmth, professionalism, and thoughtful recommendations made our Florence experience unforgettable. We also had wonderful interactions with Angelo D., Sylvia, and Alessandra, who were all welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. Hotel Calimala isn’t just a beautiful place to stay, it has a team that makes you feel genuinely cared for. We can’t wait to return.

One of the best hotel experiences I’ve had in Florence. From the moment I arrived, everything was exceptional — from the valet service and luggage assistance to the reception, housekeeping, and breakfast team. What truly stood out was the genuine hospitality of the reception staff. Everyone was incredibly warm, professional, attentive, and always ready to help with a sincere smile. I would especially like to thank Alessia and Angelo, along with the reception team. They went above and beyond throughout my stay — from recommending excellent restaurants and making reservations for me to helping me book train tickets and even planning a full-day itinerary by train. Their recommendations, patience, and willingness to help made my stay so much easier and more enjoyable. I may not remember everyone’s names, but I truly appreciate every single member of the reception team for their kindness and professionalism. A special thank you as well to Aziz, who assisted me with my luggage. He was exceptionally professional, helpful, welcoming, and always greeted me with a smile. The housekeeping team were also wonderful — professional, friendly, and attentive to every detail. In fact, on two occasions, after returning to my room following a long day exploring Florence, I found a lovely little surprise waiting for me: a few pieces of fine chocolate thoughtfully left by the housekeeper. It was such a simple yet incredibly thoughtful gesture, and it genuinely made me happy — especially because I absolutely love surprises! These small personal touches made me feel truly cared for and made my stay even more memorable. The breakfast experience was equally enjoyable. The entire breakfast team were warm, attentive, and professional, serving everything with genuine smiles and wonderful energy. Hotel Calimala is a beautiful and charming hotel in a fantastic location. The hotel has a lovely scent throughout, and the rooftop is a great place to relax with amazing views. The staff were friendly, and the overall design is elegant. Unfortunately, the soundproofing is very poor. I barely slept because I could hear noise throughout the night, including conversations, the coffee machine from the room next door, and housekeeping vacuuming from around 7 a.m. The lack of sound insulation really affected what could have been a wonderful stay. If you’re a light sleeper, this is something to keep in mind.

Superb boutique stay right in the historic heart of Florence. Steps away from the Duomo and Uffizi, with helpful staff and beautifully appointed rooms. However, our first room had a strong sulphur/sewage smell in the bathroom that never dissipated, luckily the Hotel staff were able to swap us into a different room that didn't have the odor so we were able to enjoy the rest of our stay.

This is literally a 10/10 hotel. The staff is just so lovely! Daniel made us resos at this phenomenal restaurant - 10/10 Reco. Please ask the staff for local food recommendations - you won't be disappointed. We were upgraded even without asking and that made the experience even better. We needed an additional twin bed and it was setup super quickly! The hotel rooms are beautiful, clean, well-stocked with amenities and washrooms are spacious. The overall hotel is super cute, very clean and has such an upbeat vibe. There's a bar downstairs and the bartender (Bruno) was SO awesome! He made a special drink for us - also 10/10. The location is spectacular. Steps to the main square, shops and designer boutiques. Can't say enough good things!!! Highly recommended!!
