Tijdens een dagje Florence, vanaf de camping, en door de hitte van 39 graden bevangen, kwamen wij het lege terras tegen van het Brunelleschi hotel. De ober groette ons vriendelijk en alleen wat drinken was prima. In ons vakantiekloffie waren we duidelijk underdressed voor de locatie. Desalnietemin werden we heel gastvrij, en met alle egards geholpen. Voor de drie pubers die we mee hadden wilden we 3 water bestellen, de ober dacht mee en stelde een grote fles water voor (= goedkoper, houden wij Nederlanders van ;)) Toen de ober onze bestelling kwam brengen, mijn man een espresso en ik een latte macchiato, had de ober een schoteltje met een heleboel koekjes gemaakt, ook voor de pubers, zo tof! De koffie was heerlijk, het tweede bakje ging er ook wel in. We hebben ons heel verwend gevoeld! Met dank aan een top-ober!

Stayed in one of the executive rooms with my daughter. The hotel is a beautiful boutique style hotel with lots of quirky features. Room is spacious for us two, quiet with the windows closed. Room service is excellent, cleaned daily with a turndown service every evening. Staff is very welcoming and attentive. Location is exceptional, only a 10 minute walk from most monuments.

We loved the central location of this historic beautiful hotel, that has beautifully combined the ancient tower with a modern building and updates throughout. From the very first moment at the check-in, the incredible helpfulness and kindness of the staff became instantly obvious. We have stayed in many excellent hotels worldwide, but the attentiveness and helpfulness of Brunelleschi's staff went above and beyond, it was truly the best ever. Ditto about the breakfast which had everything one could wish for, and mire, and even champagne!! Our only little peeve was that the room and the bathroom were so very small that it was difficult to find space for our two carry on, and two backpacks. We would love to come back to this gorgeous hotel when back in Rome, but we would ask for a bit more space.
